Gratton House, Dore Sheffield
The Flooring Company Sheffield successfully completed a premium residential flooring installation at Gratton House in Dore, Sheffield, delivering a high-end flooring solution across the property's entire 150m² ground floor. The project combined luxury design, specialist subfloor preparation, and modern underfloor heating installation to create a floor that offers both visual impact and long-term performance.
At the heart of the project was the installation of Karndean Art Select Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) in a bespoke Basket Weave pattern, incorporating the Spring Oak RL01 design to create a distinctive and elegant finish throughout the home. The flooring specification was carefully selected to complement the property's interior while providing the durability and practicality associated with premium LVT flooring.
A key element of the Gratton House project was the integration of a 20mm retrofit underfloor heating system, improving comfort and energy efficiency without impacting floor height or design. To support this installation, the subfloor was prepared using Tekcem 550 levelling compound, creating a smooth, stable base suitable for the new Karndean Art Select LVT flooring system. The intricate Basket Weave design required precise setting out and careful installation to maintain pattern consistency across multiple rooms and transitions, achieving a seamless and high-end finish throughout the ground floor. To further enhance performance and practicality, recessed coir matting was installed at the entrance to help control dirt and moisture ingress, protecting the flooring and reducing ongoing maintenance requirements. The completed installation combines premium Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring, professional subfloor preparation, and retrofit underfloor heating, delivering a warm, durable, and visually striking finish that enhances the property while ensuring long-term performance.
