Project Challenges & How We Overcame Them
The flooring refurbishment at Wadhurst Memorial Hall required a solution capable of balancing safety, durability, acoustic performance, and aesthetics within a busy community environment. Through careful product selection and expert installation, our team successfully delivered a flooring system tailored to the venue's long-term requirements.

Following the removal of the existing floor coverings, the subfloor required upgrading to provide a stable base for the new safety flooring system. To overcome this, SP101 flooring grade plywood was installed throughout the project area, creating a robust and reliable foundation capable of supporting the new flooring and maximising its lifespan.

Many safety flooring products can appear overly clinical, making them less suitable for community venues where aesthetics are important. Polysafe Wood FX Acoustic was selected to overcome this challenge, providing sustainable wet slip resistance and commercial durability while retaining the natural appearance of a traditional timber floor. This allowed the hall to maintain its welcoming character without compromising on safety.

As a venue used for a wide variety of activities and events, reducing noise transmission was an important consideration. The acoustic properties of the selected flooring helped address this requirement by reducing impact sound and creating a more comfortable environment for hall users. The result is a practical flooring solution that supports both functionality and user experience.
