Rotherham Hospital
The Flooring Company Sheffield successfully completed a specialist healthcare flooring installation within the Sexual Health Ward at Rotherham Hospital. Covering a total area of 496m², the project required a durable, hygienic, and slip-resistant flooring solution capable of meeting the strict demands of a busy healthcare environment.
The works involved the removal and disposal of existing floor coverings, followed by comprehensive subfloor preparation including mechanical abrasion and the application of Ardex NA smoothing compound throughout the ward. Once the substrate had been prepared, our team installed a combination of Polysafe Wood FX and Polysafe Quattro safety vinyl flooring, alongside Gradus SI100 skirting and Heckmondwike entrance matting to create a complete flooring system designed for safety, hygiene, and long-term performance.
Healthcare facilities require flooring systems that deliver exceptional levels of safety, hygiene, durability, and ease of maintenance. For the Sexual Health Ward at Rotherham Hospital, Polysafe Wood FX safety vinyl flooring was installed throughout the majority of the area, providing a practical wood-effect finish with sustainable slip resistance and long-term durability. Polysafe Quattro safety vinyl was specified in designated areas where additional slip-resistant performance was required. To support infection control and ongoing maintenance, Gradus SI100 skirting and Heckmondwike entrance matting were incorporated as part of the flooring package. Following extensive subfloor preparation, including mechanical abrasion and the application of Ardex NA smoothing compound, the completed installation delivered a robust and low-maintenance healthcare flooring solution designed to perform reliably in a busy clinical environment.
